Refugium

Originally planned by Joachim Mayr and Heinz Glatzl as a bed and breakfast, the project evolved into a visionary boutique hotel with 23 rooms, opened in April 2023 after three years of construction. The implementation was achieved with the vigorous support of numerous members of FORMDEPOT VIENNA.

Throughout the project, there was a delicate balance between the historical context and the high technical requirements. The building successfully navigates between the existing location at the church square and the new construction towards the river. The aim was to manifest the highest craftsmanship quality at every juncture, drawing fully from the selection of materials and products—without compromises.
